Apple To Increase iPhone 13 Production By 20%

Apple iPhone 13

With iPhone 12 being a massive hit in the market, Apple is considering to increase the production capacity for its upcoming iPhone 13 releasing this year in fall. In recent years, the company produces roughly 75 million devices in a year and according to a report by Bloomberg, it is estimated that the company would increase its production by20% upto 90 million devices by end of 2021.

California based tech giants- Cupertino that also serves as the headquarters of Apple had maintained a record of producing around 75 million units of iPhone every year from day of announcement to the end of the year. However, they have different plans for the year 2021 due to much anticipated iPhone 13 which Apple thinks would be in greater demand as compared to iPhone 12.

The reason for this anticipation could be that several countries are opening in the awake of COVID-19 vaccines rollout which will enhance the demand and thus supply needs to be upgraded to meet the requirements. According to the sources, global chip shortage that has affected many smartphone manufacturers would not be a problem for Apple to increase its expected production. With this news airing around, the stock market share and value of Apple also rose up to 2.5% on Wednesday at $149.22 which is 20% up from lower June closing this year.

There are no confirmed updates announced to the general public but Apple is planning to make great changes and introduce latest technology for this year’s iPhone in camera, display, and processor department. Apple is thinking to update all the current devices both regular and pro versions. Thanks to the supply chain recovery, Apple will announce new devices in September as compared to October last year. The phones are codenamed as D13, D14, D63, and D64.

Apple is going to launch a new technology of its own in the display department this year known as low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LPTO) on at least one of its new devices that would increase the refresh rate based on the content being displayed at that time. We have seen this technology from Apple before in its smart watches. This technology optimizes itself in order to enhance the battery life in iPhone 13. This isn’t a new breakthrough in smartphones segment as other smartphones manufacturers such as Oppo, One Plus, and Samsung have already being using this technology in their flagship devices. To further improve the efficiency and responsiveness LPTO also uses Indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) technology.

Further, Apple is also considering a bit of design change to meet the current market trend. Although the size would be same, Apple is considering reducing the size of the front facing camera along with the notch, that is pretty much outdated and they are also considering it to remove in near future. Apple’s advanced camera options will enable to enhance the recording feature and introduce an improved version of optical zoom on an upgraded A14 chipset. The new iPhone 13 is set to rollout in September this year.
