Android 12 Features and Performance

Launched back in May, Android 12 has been new talk of the town. Since May till now, Android 12 has been getting many Beta version updates and feature rollouts. As of today, Android 12 Beta version has got its fourth software upgrade and we have compiled all the feature upgrades and improvements it has to offer. Let’s get straight into the overview of Android 12.

Visual Overview

As per the company, the main highlight of Android 12 is the design and visual overhaul that completely redefined the look. It is based on a new design language known as ‘Material You’ giving the user power to influence design. With color extraction protocol, the whole system will be colored based upon the elemental color from your selected wallpaper.

New Android Quick Tiles

You are probably prone seeing the round buttons on your screen when you pull the down the notification shade down. With Android 12, round buttons are replaced by much bigger rounded rectangular tiles to make the visual more enhanced and appealing. Bigger tiles mean lesser buttons you see at a time which you can customize later on.

Privacy and Security Upgrades

As much focus is done on UI, Android 12 major emphasis is on privacy and security as well. A new feature has been added whose main focus is data transparency protection giving user more control over the app to manage how and which app can access the information. A new privacy dashboard is also added to give you a detailed summary of how apps access to your information as well as camera, microphone, and location access for last 24 hours. You will also be able to see through a green light on top when the camera or microphone is accessing your info which you can manage later on.

Rolling Screenshot Feature

Although this feature has been rumored for years, but now Google has finally implemented it. Rolled in the third Beta upgrade, rolling screenshot lets you capture larger image of the page you currently are on. For feature to work, just take a normal screen shot and press on ‘capture more’ to get as much shot you want and save it to gallery

Notification Improvement

There is a massive change considering the notifications department in Android 12. A completely redesigned system of notifications is up the sleeves to appeal the usability and aesthetics and tweaking the drawer and freshening the transitions.

All new powerful AppSearch

Forget the typical application and resource searching in your Android. With Beta release three of Android 12, Google has added a more powerful search system to quickly sort and display the searched queries to the user without taking much time.

Easier Wi-Fi Sharing

Android 12 has removed the need of bar code scanning to share your Wi-Fi to other user as it was done in the stock Android 11. Now you can simply press the ‘Nearby’ button under the barcode and can share your current Wi-Fi with other people very easily.
