Oppo’s MagVOOC magnetic charging adapters

Oppo MagVOOC magnetic charging adapters

Until last month, only Apple had introduced its magnetic charging technology to the world but was limited to Apple only. Last month, Realme announced the first every Android wireless magnetic charging technology known as the ‘MagDart’. Following the footsteps of Realme, other members of the BBK technologies also started to introduce their version of magnetic charging technology and the first of them is Oppo. Oppo launched their version of magnetic charger at a lunch event in china at Smart China Expo2021. The company showcased the prototype of a wireless charging system that can send power to a phone that is several inches away.

The magnetic wireless charging system is called as the ‘MagVOOC’. There are two different variants in which the company would be introducing their magnetic charging. Oppo MagVOOC comes in a 20W magnetic charger and a 40W charger along with a power bank. The accessories brought up by Oppo MagVOOC are quite different from that launched by Realme.

Moving towards the structure, we get a charging stand that holds the device vertically upwards through magnetic and can charge according to the supported devices. The 40W charging can be applied to devices such as Oppo Ace 2, which can be fully charged in 56 minutes on a 4500mAh battery capacity. However, this is different for other older devices. Older models, e.g. the Find X3, can only be charged at 30W. The charger also supports the Qi standard and can send up to 15W to devices without MagVOOC.

The 20W charger isn’t as powerful as the former but is quite portable as compared. This also comes with a Qi standard for wireless technology and can charge up to 10W which in contrast to Realme are slightly less as Realme comes at a 50W and a 15W support.

Moving towards the power bank, we get a 4500mAh internal battery which can send the charging signals to smart devices at 20W. It also supports Qi standard through which you can also charge other devices like smart watches and TWS headsets. You also get a USB port-C from which you can get 10W power. The battery needs 2 hours to charge up completely using a cable.

This was a small part of information we got from the official unveiling. Now it is not quite confirmed that when will Oppo introduce the Oppo MagVOOC and which devices will it support. The price and available markets are not confirmed as of yet, so unfortunately, we will have to wait for some official sources or leaks atleast.
