OnePlus 9RT Will Be Coming With Oxygen OS 12 In October

OnePlus is a smartphone manufacturing company that is known for some remarkable and durable devices. Their android devices are truly standout in display and performance department and are amongst the top dog within the industry. In a recent statement last month, it was revealed that there isn’t going to be any new OnePlus 9T or 9T pro device this year. Although this news is true but we may expect another smartphone in the 9 series codenamed ‘Martini’ and as per reports, it is going to be named OnePlus 9RT.

According to the reports by Android Central, OnePlus will be launching another flagship level device 9RT which is going to be an upgrade to the previous OnePlus 9R model. Along with the 9RT, OnePlus will also be launching the two new Nord devices which would be targeting the mid-range segment. The OnePlus 9RT would feature the OxygenOs 12 operating system making it first OnePlus device to feature Oxygen OS. It is set to be released in October and will only be available in selected markets like India and China as OnePlus it positioning itself in priority markets.

Moving towards the hardware and specs, OnePlus 9RT is based on the foundation of OnePlus 9R so we can expect almost similar design and build of the former. OnePlus 9RT will feature the same 120Hz refresh rate screen panels together with the same Snapdragon 870 chipset used in 9R. The fact that 9RT won’t be getting Snapdragon 888 chipset concludes that it isn’t a flagship device but a higher-end budget device. It will feature a 4500mAh battery size with a 65W fast charging support.

The major upgrades we get to see in the 9RT is in the camera setup. The OnePlus 9RT is getting a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera, the same used in Nord 2 replacing the previous 48MP 1/2.0” along with a new wide angle camera lens. The new camera setup is a larger (1/1.56”) sensor with 50 MP resolution with 1.0 µm pixels (up from 0.8 µm) Apart from the camera upgrade, the main feature that makes this device worth the wait is the inclusion of the OxygenOs.

OnePlus 9RT would be running the OxygenOs 12 version based on the Android 12 making it the first OnePlus series device to do so. OnePlus now uses the ColorOS as the base for the new OxygenOs. This integration was quite pretty and successful as we get to know it in the Nord2 series. OxygenOs brings a whole lot of new and improved features like a dedicated theme store, a private safe for keeping your important and sensitive data including documents, videos, and photos; and a redesigned settings page.

OnePlus 9RT would be releasing in October with two Nord devices and we are very excited for the launch to unbox what OnePlus has to offer more.
