S Pen Pro Leaks
Samsung cancelled the Galaxy Note 21 this year and launched the Galaxy S21 Ultra with S Pen, a gamble that paid off. Although it wasn’t a full integration still it was quite a change to observe. The S Pen that comes with S21 Ultra did not support the Bluetooth LE connectivity as compared to older S Pen models, but during the launch of S21 Ultra, Samsung did hint at working on S Pen pro which is going to be much more advanced feature wise as well as bigger than the normal S Pen’s available. If the leaks and rumours are true, then we can expect Samsung to launch S Pen pro with the launch of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 3 in their Unpacked Event on August 11.
According to leaks from Chun via twitter, the new S Pen pro will feature a 0.7mm tip and have a staggering 4096 pressure points to sense pressure level. The S Pen pro can also be used with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 without causing any damage to the foldable screen display. S Pen pro has a type-c USB charging port. It can also be attached magnetically to some cases on the back of smart devices just like Galaxy Tab S7’s pen. The price isn’t officially known but according to Chun it could be around £70 in UK that is around 139 AUD.
As per Samsung, they would be launching different S pen variants for their upcoming Z Fold and Z Flip series which is going to be different than the Pro version of the S Pen. It would be interesting to see how much of difference and upgrade could be produce but for that we will have to wait till August 11 when Z Fold and Z Flip series would be unveiled officially during the Samsung Unpacked Event. It is also reported that Samsung is also working on it S Pen foldable editions. Although it is unclear how and what difference would it have as compared to S Pen pro but it would be quite a different technology.
Earlier this year, Samsung also made clear that they would be discontinuing the ever green Note series and there would be no new Note series launched this year. As an alternative, Samsung provided S21 Ultra with S Pen and are introducing new Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series for the people and we can conclude that Z Fold and Flip series are going to be the new future and bench mark for Samsung. So if you are S Pen freak, buying a S21 Ultra could be a good choice or it is better to wait for the official launch for Z Fold and Flip series in August.
