Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Specifications and Price

Samsung has taken a great leap of faith by discontinuing Note series and replacing it with Z Fold and Z Flip 3 series. Recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the third iteration of the Samsung’s foldable series and it offers much more than its predecessors and comes with great improvements both in durability and performances at affordable prices. Galaxy Z Fold 3 happens to be the first foldable with S Pen support and new software upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 retains the classic foldable design and is made with armor aluminum. The company states it as the ‘toughest aluminum frame’ as of yet. Z Fold 3 is also the first Samsung foldable that comes with IPX8 water resistant which means you can submerge your device at a depth of 1.5m of water for 30 minutes. The embedded IP protection doesn’t include dust resistance, but the nylon bristles on the inside of the hinges help to sweep away the dust particles.

The Galaxy Fold 3 also features dual displays with a size of 6.2 inches OLED infinity display with a 7.6 main screen that appears when you fold the device. On top of infinity-O display, both the display comes at 120Hz refresh rate ensuring smooth scrolling and brighter display traction.

The inner screen resolution is 2268×832 pixels while the internal screen comes at resolution of 2208×1768 pixels with screen brightness increased 29% due to the new Eco display technology. The inner panel is 80% stronger due to the new protective film.

The camera department of Z Fold 3 is quite similar to that of what we got last year. It includes a 12MP f/1.8 main camera along with a 12MP f/2.2 Ultra wide camera and 12MP f/2.4 telephoto camera that is capable of 2x optical zoom. On top of that, the users would be given optical image stabilization in the telephoto lens as well as on the ultra-wide camera that add extra feathers to the image quality and sharpness. On the cover display of Z Fold 3, we get a 10-megapixel camera. The extra beauty added on the Z Fold 3 display is added by the introduction of Samsung’s first Under Display Camera. It’s a 4-megapixel camera that stays out of the way when you’re not taking photos or in a video call.

Moving towards the internal specs of Z Fold 3, we see top of the line snapdragon 888 chipset with 12GB Ram. The storage operations come with 256GB/512GB variants with no room of storage expansion via micro SD card. Fold 3 runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1.1 with many improved features. Fold 3 offers a under display finger print sensors. The battery is reduced to 4000mAh to trim down the weight and size of the handset.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes at a price tag of It $1,799 / £1,599 / AU$2,499 for a 256GB storage model, while the 512GB Z Fold 3 for $1,899 / £1,699 / AU$2,649.
