Samsung Unpacked Event August 11
Couple of weeks back, Evan Blass leaked a rumour on his twitter account that that Samsung is planning an event on August 11 and is expected to unveil Z fold series and more. This rumour recently became official when Samsung announced that they would be launching Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung Watch and many more exciting gadgets on their Samsung Unpacked Event. The event would be held virtually keeping the pandemic situation in mind and would go live on Wednesday August 11 at 7am PT/10 am ET.
Samsung on its YouTube channel posted a teaser video ahead of its Samsung Unpacked Event. The video was a tribute to all the smartphones that helped to change the dynamics of technology. The video included phones from Nokia, Blackberry and Motorola with a very odd impression of leaving the iPhone out and we know why! The crux of the video was that the time for Samsung Note users is about to end and Samsung is planning to move ahead. Samsung has confirmed that they are not going to introduce a new Note device and their focus is to bring S pen to the foldable series.
The move is most unexpected but already shadowing since late 2020. The move is quite right as S-series and Note series are quite similar except the S pen and Samsung is ready for new challenges. Here is what you can expect from the Samsung Unpacked Event. The first noticeable feature of the event is all new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Galaxy Z Fold 3 offers bigger front display and formidable glass inside.
According to some leaks, Fold 3 will not be having periscope as it comes in S21. The salient feature if Z Fold 3 is foldable screen and it can be expected that Samsung might cut some parts to bring price tag below $2000 mark as compared to Galaxy fold 1 and 2. According to SamMobile, we can expect 20% cut pricing at around $1600. Another expected launch we can expect is of Galaxy Z Flip 3, a regular smartphone folding into a brick. Samsung is planning massive changes as compared to Flip 1 where you get 1.9 inches front display and 2 large cameras which is an increase as compared to Flip 1. The complete specs sheet isn’t available so we can’t make wild guesses.
Although there is no reference for Galaxy Watch 4, but we are expecting the announcement of flagship Samsung watch from the event as well. Through some leaks we can expect a 44mm regular and 46mm classic version running in WearOs a Samsung and Google team-up initiative which got its last major update in 2018. Samsung has abandoned Tizen for its smart watches and is switching to Google OS.
